Indigenous Studies is a cross-disciplinary program that provides graduates with a robust understanding of the complexity and diversity of Indigenous/First Peoples (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders) within and beyond Australia. Subjects offered develop detailed knowledge and critical understanding of how discourses and representations of Indigenous Peoples function in contemporary society, as well as the historical, social, political, economic, environmental and ethnic contexts that produce them.
The Australian Indigenous Studies major prepare students for entry into the increasing number of fields in which Indigenous people and cultures participate. It offers unique perspectives on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and culture. Themes include Indigenous cultural production, key thinkers and concepts, settler and Indigenous environmental ethics, Aboriginal women and colonialism, Indigenous health, and issues relating to land, law and philosophy.

為來自中國的學生設計 To be eligible for entry to an undergraduate degree you must fulfill all of the following requirements: Complete the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or an overseas qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12. English language requirements: TOEFL - Paper based test - a score of 577 or more including a score of 4.5 in the Test of Written English. Internet based test - a score of 79 and scores of: Writing: 21, Speaking: 18, Reading: 13, Listening 13. IELTS (Academic) - an overall band score of 6.5 or more in the Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS), with no bands less than 6.0. Pearson Test of English (Academic) - an overall score of between 58-64 inclusive and achieve no PTE communicative skills score below 50. Cambridge English: Advanced/Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) - A Cambridge English Score of 176 with no skill below 169.
