The MSc by Research in Sound Design is aimed at those with considerable practical experience of sound design or have been established on the scenes of sonic art, electronic composition or sound design, but who wish to pursue further study, researching an area of these fields.
Graduates will be able to engage critically with the social, cultural, technical and theoretical aspects of: sound art; design; digital composition; digital media
Training and support
All of our research students benefit from ECA’s interdisciplinary approach and all are assigned two research supervisors.
Your second supervisor may be from another discipline within ECA, or from somewhere else within the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences or elsewhere within the University, according to the expertise required.
On occasion, more than two supervisors will be assigned, particularly where the degree brings together multiple disciplines.

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 You should have a good first degree from a recognised institution, with minimum grades of between 80-85%. This is the University’s general minimum requirement but some programmes may have specific qualification requirements as well. Entry requirements vary from course to course and in cases there is also variation in the standards required for entry to certain courses. Courses in great demand are likely to require higher entry grades. Please refer the university website for details of the English Language requirements for entry to individual postgraduate degree programmes.
