專業(yè)概況
在這里學什么？ Portuguese is the sixth most widely spoken language in the world, and - from Brazil to Mozambique - the many countries in which its used have fascinatingly rich and varied cultures. Studying Portuguese and Philosophy, which has been at the core of Western intellectual life for at least 2,500 years, helps us understand the world in which we live now, as well as shedding light on the past. In addition to intense training in the written and spoken aspects of the Portuguese language, you'll be introduced to an extraordinary range of literature, film and theatre from Europe, Latin America and Lusophone Africa. Studying Philosophy, you'll explore and analyse how philosophers past and present have understood the world, and the arts of argument, critical enquiry, reasoning, and clarity of expression. Uniquely in Scotland, studying at Edinburgh enables you to take a full year abroad as part of your four-year undergraduate programme, either studying, teaching or working. You'll therefore spend Year 3 in a country where Portuguese is spoken.
