在這里學(xué)什么？ This programme will help you develop your interest in, and specialist knowledge of, the English language while learning Italian to a high standard and in its cultural context. One of Europe’s most creative and distinctive civilisations, Italy has a fascinating and influential history. Study Italian with us and you will learn the language in the context of Italian culture, past and present, including leading works of literature and cinema. Through the study of English Language, you will explore language structure, language variation, and what makes language special. You can also opt to study Scots language, which has its own rich linguistic and literary tradition. You do not need to have studied Italian previously to take our programme. Intensive language tuition, and a year spent studying or working in Italy, will teach you how to read, write and speak the language to a high standard, including in translation. The University of Edinburgh’s linguistics and phonetics equipment, for use experimentally and in fieldwork, is among the best in the world. You can also study Scots language which has its own rich linguistic and literary tradition.
