在這里學什么？ Two of the world's most widely spoken languages, Arabic and Spanish make an excellent programme combination. Interaction between the two languages and cultures has taken place over many centuries, most obviously in Islamic Spain between 711 and 1492, and continuing to the present day. Arabic is the main language of more than 250 million people living in a huge swathe of land extending from the Atlantic to the Persian Gulf. Apart from opening the door to a fascinating and varied region, knowledge of Arabic provides access to the rich intellectual heritage of Islam. The twenty countries where Spanish is an official language have fascinatingly rich and varied cultures. Studying Spanish with us is your gateway to an extraordinary range of literature, film and theatre from around the world, explored in its historical context, from medieval to contemporary times. Students studying Arabic and Spanish will benefit from our resources and our excellent record in teaching and research. You'll also spend a year studying both languages abroad.
